Melissa Brown

Melissa Brown is a painter whose work merges contemporary technology with traditional painting and collage techniques as a means for understanding the nature of reality.

Brown uses a variety of media, including iPhone snapshots blended with stencil, impasto, and screen-printed digital photography, to create layered surfaces with depth and dimensionality. The contrast between the immediacy of digital snapshots and the more tactile, time-consuming processes of painting and collage invites reflection on how we remember, experience, and interpret the world around us.
