Mo Kong
Mo Kong is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher.
Kong’s recent work envisions post-apocalyptic scenarios and the power of scent as a means of preserving Asian culture and identity in a world facing collapse. Using a research-driven approach that embraces multiple perspectives, Kong blends ideas about environmental crises and socio-political frameworks, often materializing in large-scale installations. By revisiting and recontextualizing the historical weaponization of scents against Asian Americans, the artist encourages viewers to reconsider the key issues of the day and the complex interplay between the past and present, culture, identity, and survival.
