aricoco (Ari Tabei) is an interdisciplinary visual artist who engages sculpture, video, and performance.
She creates environments for habitation with large-scale bags, sculptural garments, and masks that serve equally as protective gear and temporary nests. With a reverence for nature, aricoco invents and performs her own ritualistic play as a mode of examining the non-hierarchical systems of social insects and altruistic biological characteristics within their female dominant society.
