Jaimie Warren is a photographer and performance artist creating works both independently as well as collaboratively with youth and community groups that collage characters and imagery from pop culture and art history. Her productions expand on traditions of staged self-portraiture, B-horror movies, high school plays and silent films, focusing on how identity is performed in contemporary and historical artistic contexts. Her practice is reliant on the participation, artistic contributions, and creative input of a large swath of contributors—ranging from close friends and family to community organizations and anonymous web users. She is co-creator and co-director of the community-engaged and artist-led fake television show Whoop Dee Doo.
