Sharon Louden

Sharon Louden works across a variety of scales, ranging from works on paper to monumental public installations.

Her drawings, prints, and paintings comprise simple, geometric gestures in single or basic colors against white or black backgrounds, while her indoor and outdoor installations are made from highly reflective aluminum. Louden’s anthropomorphic, elegant and playful gestures are amplified across media, where installations are always based on drawings. Using sculptural materials to draw in space, Louden aims to respond to space and architecture as to suggest an infinite space beyond the static one immediately at hand.

Louden is also an advocate for artists and the editor of the “Living and Sustaining a Creative Life” series of books.
